I purhased two 20" fans from Wal-Mart and attached each fan to a 3/4" piece of scrap shelving with 3 conduit clamps. I screwed nylon glider's to the bottom of the shelf at each corner to create a space between the shelf and the ceiling. I then drilled a pivot hole through which I secured the shelf to a ceiling joist with a 5/16" X 3" lag screw and a fender washer. I can pivot the fans to any position and they do a great job of circulating air in my shop.
