I think I am one of the few people who will tap threads into wood directly.  So far I have had no problems.  The 8mm machine hex bolts lock the blade in place nicely.

I wanted a honing guide for the blade in my new kanna (Japanese plane) but couldn't find one that would accommodate the 60mm blade, so this is what I came up with.  The bottom wheel was just a quick spin on the lathe.

THIS WOULD MAKE WEARING MINUTE, ALSO YOUR WOULD HAVE LESS MOVEMENT AND MAKE YOUR TOOL MORE DEPENDABLE. WOULD SURE LIKE TO HAVE PLANS/ DRAWINGS. WOULD MAKE MY OWN. AM A CERTIFIED MACHINESTS AND WOODSMITH/ LEATHER SMITH. THE WHEEL COULD POSE SOME TROUBLE. FIXING FOR IT'S ROTATING IS NOTHING.
