mission style coffee table in solid oak and hickory, many coats of tung oil finish.  All the slats are mortised using drill press and hand chisel.  Table jointery is mortise and tenon, tongue and groove joins the hickory end pieces to the horizontal parts.  Built to replace our department store table with something made of real wood!  side table coming soon...

I haven't used a plan for anything yet, which might be obvious in some cases!? I measured our existing department store table as a guide for dimensions. The similarities stop there. I added extra side slats and had seen a lower shelf design like the one I used somewhere else. The breadboard ends are something I added too. For this I did have a sketch with measurements as a guide but most of this is in my head, at least until it's finished.
