Showing detail of wood grain and breadboard.

Quarter sawn curly Appalachian and Minnesota red oak. I modeled this after a walnut table my parents bought in 1972. I engineered the whole thing, including the leg fastening system with a quick take-down feature for moving. Table is 75 X 38 and 29.5 high (inches).

I am grateful to Tauton's for publishing breadboard techniques because this top was only 7/8ths thick so I really had to practice technique before cutting the tenon in the main table. So far this Winter, it shrunk about 1/16th per side.

Finished with three apps of boiled linseed oil and hand rubbed fancy wax. It can seat 8 because we have small chairs.
