Turning Segmented Lamps
Schiffer Publishing Ltd., 2011
$29.99; 144 pp.
Turning Segmented Lamps by Ralph S. Buckland includes plans, drawings and step-by-step instructions for creating 17 different lamps. Buckland also includes basic segmented turning instructions as well as helpful tips and techniques such as a wood density chart; information about different lathe tools and the different glues he uses; and information on wiring the lamps. The book is also full of color photos to make the processes clearer.
If you’ve done some turning and are ready to try segmented turning, this book will help you get there and you could end up with a nice lamp or two (or 17).
