This is a simple side table I built as a wedding gift in 2007. The wood is meranti. The "Pair of Side Tables" project by ScottKingFurniture reminded me of it, similarly proportioned, though mine lacks the graceful curves of his.

This was my first furniture project built entirely with hand tools. I tapered the legs by ripping long wedges off, then final shaping with handplanes. The aprons are joined to the legs with mortise and tenon. The top has wooden buttons screwed to the underside, clamping wide mortises in the aprons.

The chips on the floor are from some birch I was practicing on with a scrub plane, not from this project!
