Ash Roubo Workbench
comments (4) June 4th, 2011 in Reader's Gallery
This workbench was my first woodworking project. The bench is made from 8/4 ash. The vice chops are reclaimed brazil mahogany. The bench is based on my own hand drafted orthographics, but its the unmistakable roubo design. I admired the Benchcrafted split top roubos, so I thought I'd make a slimmed down (easier on the budget) knock down version. I've been using it for 6 months. The design has helped me explore the balance between power and hand tools, and its provided a good foundation for growth and learning.
