Furniture recycling

This is a before and after picture of a project I recently completed. A birdseye 2 0ver 2 dresser converted into a vanity. The original veneer on the top was damaged beyond repair, which made it a perfect candidate for a recycling project. The bottom drawer (before pic) was used as the false drawer on the front of the completed vanity. The top was made from a recycled maple footboard. The cabinet was rebuilt using cabinet grade plywood for the inside bottom and back. The inside of the cabinet was stained and finished. Overall the project took about 40 hours. this is the second vanity I made recycling antique furniture that was beyond reasonable repair.
