Antiqued Credenza-Style Entertainment Center

This entertainment center feature three bays. Behind the center door, you'll find two dovetailed drawers and room for plenty of records (yes, I still listen to vinyl). Behind door number three (far-right), you'll find adjustable shelves with vent holes routed out in the back - for the housing of stereo components. A mortised lock and brass key escutcheon were added to keep curious toddler hands away from all that expensive equipment.
The base was built of poplar and I finished it using black milk paint over barn red milk paint. After several coats of paint, I applied two coats of diluted boiled linseed oil, allowed the oil to cure for three weeks, and applied paste wax. The cheery top was finished with de-waxed shellac, Minwax antique oil, and paste wax.
