This pistol box was created by Kasey Harris and myself for my son's pistol.  Kasey hand carved the top insert and I made the box.  It is made of Cherry wood, stained by EZOff oven cleaner and the light wood is birch.  The inside insert is removable should my son decide to change pistols

biguglyguy biguglyguy writes: You use EZOff oven cleaner - you apply it with either a rag, as I did on the box itself or a toothbrush in the case of Kasey's carved insert. You have to use gloves as that stuph is brutal on hands. The longer you leave it on the darker it gets so wiping it off places where you want it a bit lighter is advisable. It still will darken even after a day or so, so I recommend experimenting on some sanded scrap before trying on your hard work!
