Modern Shoji Lamps
comments (2) May 3rd, 2011 in Reader's Gallery
I wanted to use japanese rice paper in a project so I designed these lamps. I use low wattage florescent bulbs so as not to heat up the paper on the shades. 17 inches tall and 6 inches square. They make great accent lighting and work well on the bedside table. Oil finish.
Thanks for looking

These look great!
I was in a Japanese paper store a week ago with my wife and after about 15 minutes I committed myself to using this material in some sort of project - and a lamp is my first choice.
Be advised that, in addition to being further inspired by your work, I will be borrow from it shamelessly.
Cheers
