Leaving the shop, this piece sits in the yard waiting for the truck.
The top is capped with custom made cove moulding and one coat hook on either side.

This up close shot allows you to see the rays in the quartersawn freezeboard and cove moulding.

This customer had a need for a place to take off his shoes and hang up his coat, but he couldn't find anything that would not block his view out the back window. So he called me, and I gave him this design. A shaker Hall Tree with bench storage and an opening in the back to accomadate his window. This piece incorporates pegged mortise and tenon joinery along with floating panels. The two vertical panels along with the vertical stiles around the window are bookmatched panels so all the grain is the same. Even the horizontal panels in the tree and the corrosponding panels in the bench are all bookmatched. The custom cove moulding at the top caps it all off.

And thanks for the comments. :)
