The idea for this came about when I was building a coffin shaped shelf for a friend of mine. I designed the clock myself and purchased the clock componets from Klockit. I started with the basic outside shape, then attached the lid. I then cut holes for the clock face and door and built the soundboard for the clock movement. After making sure that the clock face fit in place I installed the back with an access door for the movement. after sanding, staining and clear coating I upholstered the interior in button tuft red crushed velvet over 1" of foam to give it a soft look. I still need to find and install a bezel for the face.
