Free Plan: Overhead Lumber Rack
comments (6) April 17th, 2011 in blogs
When extra storage space for your lumber is an issue there are lots of different ways to handle the problem. This overhead lumber rack keeps wood stored neatly and out of the way without taking up valuable floor space. But even better than that it can knock down when not being used, and it has a clever dovetail system to lock the removable section to the permanant piece in the ceiling.

As designed, the lumber can fall from the rack during an earthquake. Secure the lumber to the center upright with a bungee chord, nylon webbing, or a rope. Remember, don't place anything heavier than you want falling on your head above you in earthquake country unless you secure it.
