This bistro set was made for my mother ( who loves cats ) for her new Ipe deck . It was yet another job I practiced many different types of joinery . I used spanish cedar and mahogany with a tung oil finish .The main reason for spanish cedar choice was to keep the weight low so it can be easily carried for winter storage .It turned out remarkably stable . The most interesting part of this set is the fact that , if you notice the graining , the back slats and the cat are one solid pc of mahogany . I Enjoyed this project but as many of you know , spanish cedar is a very dusty wood to work with so there is a lot of clean-up if milling in a closed shop .
