This bench is based on an article in the 'Fine Woodworking' magazine of Nov/Dec 2007 and published on the finewoodworking.com site, entitled 'A Modern Bench' by Mark Edmundson. The original design has a danish cord seat but I couldn't find any locally and so opted for a solid wood seat. My bench is made from recycled oak - some old furniture we had that we weren't using any more.
