Phases of the Spoon
comments (1) December 12th, 2008 in Reader's Gallery
Spoons of tiger maple from 7" to 18" each shape hand drawn then used a bandsaw, rasp, gouge, scraper, hand sanded and finally finished with tung oil. A small burl in a piece of firewood inspired me to bring the shape out of the wood. The 'note spoon' is a special gift for my stepmother, a violin / viola teacher who has been 'spoon feeding' music to young musicians for over 35 years.
