Roland Johnson heads for Costa Mesa, California

I'm heading for the Orange County Exposition & State Fairgrounds in Costa Mesa this weekend for The Woodworking Shows event. Last weekend I was in Dallas giving finishing seminars, the same stuff I'll be doing this weekend, and we had a great time. Big, enthusiastic crowds and just a great woodworking vibe.
I was thrilled to meet so many new woodworkers. I'd say that better than half of the attendees at my seminars were newbies to the woodworking hobby, and that's great!
The seminars I'm giving cover the basics of surface prep, coloring wood and topcoating with wipe-on and brush-on finishes. Stop by and say hi, stay for a seminar and learn how to hand apply a great finish.
