This curved bench is a study in elegant simplicity. The curved seat offers a comfortable place to sit, and the construction wastes very little wood. The seat is made from two planks of wood. All it takes is two cuts at the bandsaw to rough out the scoops. The offcuts are then flipped over and glued to the underside. After the two halves are glued together, you simply shape the legs at the bandsaw, and join them to the seat with mortise-and-tenon joints.

I don't know the specifics of how she makes them, but my guess is that she bandsaws out the curve and them smooths is. They were made from solid wood.

could someone explain how Judih creates the belt sander platens with the concave and convex curves, needed to sand the band saw cuts?

What maerial, etc?
