Making Ladder Back Chairs with Russ Filbeck
Art Path Press, 2010.
$85.00; 230 pp.

Making Ladder Back Chairs with Russ Filbeck is a detailed, step-by-step book that teaches you how to build 4 different types of Appalachian-style slat chairs. The book is packed full of color photos and includes sections on the history of the chairs as well as a section on some of today’s ladder back chair makers. Russ Filbeck has been making and teaching chair making for many years.

Richardsdesginco is the lucky winner. His comment was chosen at random.  After he has received the book, keep a lookout for some photos of the chairs he builds.

And check back often for more book giveaways.

Although Russ has retired from Palomar College, he continues to offer chairbuilding courses. I'm preparing to take his course and his book would be a valuable addition to learning the material.
