This is my fancy new desk. It took over a year to design and build but it came out good. It weighs 260lbs, but it comes apart for moving. Nice and solid. The double-tee shape of lighter wood is laminated strips of 3/4" hardwood ply, with thin strips of birch on the front and back. The drawers are 1/2" plywood with birch fronts and structural bits. Steel and aluminum hardware throughout. Finish is Minwax poly all over, with Zar American Gothic stain on the dark parts. I just graduated architecture school, so that is my perspective toward furniture. I didn't use traditional methods, mostly made it up as I went.  My dad is a builder and helped out on the tricky bits.

Where can I go to read about cable stabilization as seen on your desk. I like the industrial look of the cables. Also, your desk top is great very original. Thanks for your time.
