This jig is designed to work with the Veritas bench clamps but other bench clamps with a 3/4" spigot would probably work. Basically it is a piece of 3/4" plywood with a bunch of 3/4" holes drilled in it. The pictures pretty much tell the story.

walkingsam walkingsam writes: Hey Greg: Love the idea and I already have the LV clamps. I am curious though as to what you have fabricated at the bottom of the clamp just above the surface of the plywood. Looks like some sort of collar and I'm guessing it might have to do with keepint the clamp from scraping the top of the saw's table. Can you give us some further info pls?

Eenmijay Eenmijay writes: Beyond tapering, it should work equally as well as a guide for ripping stock that does not have a straight edge to ride along the fence. In this regard, it's limited by its length, but a longer, similarly constructed jig would work for longer pieces.

PettigrewWoodworks PettigrewWoodworks writes: Nice simple design. If tapering a large piece it would be good to add a stationary table on the other side of the blade to support the cutoff.

Should not be used without the guard on the table saw however.
