My new woodworking shop is an addition we made after Hurricane Katrina to an existing multi function shop I had for 20 years. The new shop is 900 sqft of heated/cooled space with 10' ceilings and gives a nice airy feeling with plenty of natural lighting. Most of my woodworking interests are in furniture and pro style finishing and outdoor furniture. Folding sawhorse stows away
This rock-solid sawhorse folds and stows away in a sliver of space, and you can make it from hardwood scraps and hardware-store hinges.
Every shop needs a set of sawhorses. I don't use them so much for sawing as I do for organizing parts and pieces as I mill them and work on them, keeping them close at hand. As editor of FWW, I've seen dozens of sawhorse designs, but these are the ones I have in my shop.
I made them from some scrappy maple I had lying around (maple is great... read full tip

Nice shop and my wife about fell over seeing that sewing table, it is beautiful. Are there plans for that or did you come up with those on your own? Thanks

I just built a new 1000 sq ft shop and placed my dust collection systen under the floor. It makes sense to me that your dust collections system has to work harder to suck dust up rather than down, which is the way gravity works. Was their a reason to go over head?
