Silhouette Nightstand
comments (1) July 7th, 2010 in Reader's Gallery
These nightstands mate with the Silhouette Bed (see my profile for that post) and are mahogany and paduk with wenge accents. The carcass is comprised of a single continuous panel cut and joined with splined mitered corners. A power switch is wired to the body to allow the light (or multiple lights) to be turned on/off from the top of the nightstand rather than searching for a roll switch on a cord or reach under a shade. The small shelf raises the lamp off the top high enough to allow a book or magazine to slide partly under and maximize surface space. The feet, shelf and handles all mirror elements from the figured headboard and footboard design.
