Expanding Table
comments (1) June 24th, 2010 in Reader's Gallery
This is a project for a client looking for a long dining table for a narrow space that could easily expand in width. The client also wanted the leaves to be integrated into the table and expand individually. The leaves extend with a gentle pull. As they extend the top lifts up until the leaf is clear then floats back down on tiny pneumatic pistons. The table is 120" long and 26" to 36" wide. It is made of walnut and is comprised of over 100 individual parts.
