This is the first one only 2 shelves had been finished when I took this photo.
This is the second bookcase after all the shelves had been finished. I used a flash so I got a bit of glare on the photo.
This is the feet of  bookcase 2. I paid special attention to the grain and made sure it wrapped around the base. I did the same on the trim at the top.

I needed a pair of bookcases so after watching the Philip C. Lowe series of videos on making a bookcase I got inspired and got to work. I did it as close as possible to the original except I changed the feet to match the pair of side tables that I had made.

The ply is birch and the trim and feet are ash. I found the ash very nice to work with and will try and find use for it other projects.

I bought a dado blade for this project and then landed up having to rush out and buy a router table half way through. So my workshop benefited from the project.

Hand planning down the trim was more effort than I bargained. At the end of the day I am very happy with the project.
