This design is the fourth in a series of pieces that I have done in this concept. The top is bookmatched, and all the black walnut is localy harvested.

WMoylan WMoylan writes: Very nice piece. I've been working with local black walnut also. I was planning a writing desk in cheery, but this has inspired me to rethink -- perhaps to combine the woods. I really like your proportions and the splayed legs and their angles are elegant. Wish you had plans available. Congrats on a beautify piece.

toddwesley toddwesley writes: Thanks for the input. The dimensions are w60" d26" h30". The legs are splayed in both directions at 5 degrees. The dimensions were really determined by the board that I manted to use for the top since it was resawn and book matched. And the angle of the legs was really a trial and error procces.

richwood1 richwood1 writes: Hi Todd, love the writing desk. Can you tell me are the legs splayed out in both directions? That is looking at the front of the desk and the side view. Are the legs tapered? It doesn't appear that they are in the picture.
