My daughter needed two custom sized end tables to fit between her couch and walls on either end, They are made from solid red oak, the legs are glue ups of 3 pieces of 3/4 stock, then tapered.  The legs are attached to the skirts with pocket hole screws and the tops are attached to the skirts with brackets made from oak inserted into a 1/4 inch dado in the skirts.
