Father and Son Walnut and Sycamore Tables
comments (1) June 1st, 2010 in Reader's Gallery
My friend found a very lovely piece of Sycamore at his sawmill and set it aside for me. As I looked at the board, it was obvious that it had to be a table top and fortunately, there was enough of the board to make two. The unique character of the Sycamore is highlighted by the Walnut used to wrap it and make the base.
The base of the table is traditional enough to satisfy my wife's taste, while the floating top appeals to my more unconventional appetite.
