New front doors and entry area. Solid Fir, I started with three inch stock, finished thickness in 2.5. A small part of the total renovation.

This photo shows most of the main floor, kitchen is edge grain cherry, burl slab for bistro counter on end of kitchen. Ceiling is clear edge grain fir and beams are fir. The left section, now a dining room is an addition, all interior walls in this area were removed and a new roof(vaulted) was built. The roof was built from the inside out so no fasteners are visible.

Bistro Table, the top is a Burl we found when sailing a local island on the BC coast.

The photos I have shown here are a small bit of the work I did over a five year period on our former home. We totally gutted the building and re built it mostly from the foundation up. Two small additions were added, the front entrance and the dining room area plus a new garage as the original was converted to a workshop. We were going to add a second floor as we have awesome views from this property, but after visiting and photographing the view corridors from our neighbours homes, we decided to not raise the height of our building beyond the four foot vaulted ceiling as it would block their views. We instead decided to make what we had very nice, sometimes smaller is better!

We have since sold this house and I am currently working on another one, this one is defiantly the last one……..?

Cheers

Most people would've just added it, but, you showed class & respect. I'd like to have a neighbour like you. Great job on the house. The front door is a nice touch. LOVE the burl table. That must have weighed a TON!! Spectacular job!! :)
