Mother's Day Fresh Flower Vase

This was a fun project for hollow turning. Although a fairly large turning (7"W x 9"H) the hollowing is relatively easy due to the large opening being created. I originally drilled out the log with the largest forstner bit I had and then opened it up from there.
I recessed the lip from the top of the vase to hide the stainless steel liner from view when an arrangement is emplaced. The liner is removable so that I can easily clean out any residue that is left by the flowers in water.
The liner is available from Craft Supply USA & Smooth Turning websites. I used the Termite and a regular Eliminator for the hollowing process. The outside was turned with standard skews and gouges and a wipe on oil finish.
