Don's Delta Unisaw
comments (4) March 2nd, 2010 in Reader's Gallery
After putting in 35 years with a telephone company I retired and found myself with enough time to start getting serious about my hobbies and the toys they bring with them. This was not first on the list but when it came along I knew I had to get it. I had to work out assorted details the shipping and before I knew it many weeks had passed. The truck arrived with my pallet but with my driveway being too steep for a large truck I knew I would need to haul it down the hill in the back of my pickup. I backed up to the lift gate and we shoved the pallet into the back of my truck and I let out a sigh of relief. Finally I said , the truck driver looked at me and said " how long have you been waiting?" I could not resist - I just looked at him and smiled and said - since I was about 14 - after seeing this saw in my first wood shop class. I think it was worth the wait.

It sure is easy to become an avid fan of their products isn't it.
I am still amazed at the quality of every cut and find I am looking forward to the next time I need to use it.
I have read all I can find about the saw and was extremely patient before using it for the first time.
I checked and double checked everything - (four or five times) , followed all the tune up instructions I could find-
I also ran a new circuit complete with it's own fused disconnect.
Then after my first cut I naturally had to do the stand the nickel on end test.
I probably had a half a dollar standing on that saw and yes it passed - then I had to laugh when all the coins were being blown over by the wind from the blade turning , now that I hadn't considered.
Donbean46 I absolutely know what you mean I am the only one I know who has an eight by ten glossy of a saw in his truck so if anyone wants to see a picture of "my sweetie" I can show them. That's like I have said most people have pictures of girlfriends and cars but . . .
Well I am a little envious , you all combined have at least 51 more years of experience with this saw than I do - so I had better go and try to catch up with you.
Thanks again
