This is my very first woodworking project, a walnut bookshelf. The idea was to end up with modern straight lines and no back in order to make it feel lighter.

I added the front frame to give a stronger impression and left a 3" clearance between the frame and the shelves.

 

It's clearly not as well built as the projects presented in this gallery but I improving and learned a lot from this initial project.
