Cut from scrap

I had this scrap given to me some forty years ago. For some reason I kept it, not knowing the grain that was in it. What a surprise when our old plastic coffee scoop broke and I decided to try making a spoon. I am a wood pack rat and don't throw away any wood. Anyway, this piece of scrap has been ignored for a long time because of its weird shape. It was waiting for this project.
