The design of this table started out as something else but morphed into this, as a result of a mistake or two measuring and cutting the boards for the top and base. You've been there, right? But I actually like the result much better. It's 15 5/8 X 29 1/4 X 25. The top is 11/16 thick. The ends of the boards for the top are cut at an angle to add interest.

The maple legs are tapered. The rails are joined to the legs with haunched mortise and tenons, then pinned with a single peg. The tabletop pieces are glued up, then I took them to my local wood suppler and had it run through their big sander to get it perfectly flat. The lacewood is stained a bit darker than its natural hue. The finish is 3 coats of rubbed on oil and varnish mix.
