Bear Brooch Collection Display Cabinet

The Asian influence is complimented by the use of five different fall-off (scrap) woods...kind of a wood five-spice concoction. The top, bottom and divider of the carcass are reclaimed spalted oak from a bench rehab that I did last summer, the sides are maple, the "roof" and door stiles/rails are quarter-sawn white oak, the "foundation" is elm and the back and door panels are birch ply. The finish is Tung Oil. The tiles are hand painted heirlooms from China. Note: The inside will house an interchangable padded cloth covering to hold the brooches. A French cleat was used for hanging for and stability and easy removal.
