I designed and crafted this jewelry armoire for my wife's 50th birthday gift.  The legs are walnut and enforce the verticality of the piece.  The drawer fronts, the back, the side doors, and all carcase parts are curly maple.  The side door panels are spalted maple on the outside and bird's eye veneer on the inside.  The drawers feature hand cut dovetail joinery, curly maple dividers, and custom full-extension, all-wood, stopped slides.  The curly maple top highlights a 3-D box panel made of cherry, oak, and walnut.  All panels have walnut beading.  The drawer pulls and door handles are custom made of Hawaiian koa.  There is a hidden compartment below the bottom drawer (don't tell anyone).  I wish I had incorporated a locking mechanism, but I was ready to complete this and get on to the next project.  The finish is two coats of pure tung oil and four coats of satin wipe on poly.  This project took me a little over 200 hours to build, plus design time.
