FW vs. FH Buildoff: And, We're Off!

The big buildoff between Fine Woodworking and Fine Homebuilding has finally begun. The FH/FW shop is a hive of activity, all centered around the 16' X 8' set specially built for the event over the course of the past two weeks.

For those of you not "in the know" yet, we've pitted Fine Homebuilding contributor Gary Striegler against our very own Tony O'Malley, for a face-to-face duel aimed at highlighting the differences in technique between a trim carpenter and a woodworker? Each of our authors will be constructing a mudroom built-in at our set. With cameras rolling and shutters clicking, we'll be covering the entire process from start-to-finish, and in the coming weeks, we'll be launching an entire video series packed with tips and techniques. Plus, both Fine Homebuilding and Fine Woodworking magazines will be covering the event in print.

This Wednesday, February 17, Fine Homebuilding will be launching a live video podcast from the set, with both Tony O'Malley and Gary Striegler. Tune in at 12:30 p.m. (EST) for a chance to pick their brains and gain insights on the different working methods employed by woodworkers and trim carpenters. You'll be able to have a look at the set, see how both projects are coming along, and have your questions answered ... live!
