sgardner sgardner writes: I agree with your thoughts about the back slats PSeverin. I had the same thought after They were done... hind site. Maybe on the next ones. The hickory I just lucked on to at a reclaimed wood lot ( www.Trestlewood.com ). A rare find and I did not have enough to finish the chairs so had to mix in some new wood But was really happy to find what I did with the live edge. Thanks for the feedback.

PSeverin PSeverin writes: The chairs are interesting and perhaps deserve more interest than the table. I'm taken with the back slats that reflect the gap in the table top. I almost wish they continued below the seat to a lower rail between the back legs, sort of woven into a conventional chair frame. But the set is quite nice as it is.
