Mahogany pen with African Padauk and Maple Accents

Last weekend, I made a laminated pen blank for the first time, and was really excited about the result.  This weekend, I wanted to do something a little more complex, and realized that cutting accurate slices that thin was really difficult.  So, I came up with this simple jig to aid in making these cuts!  I had a piece of 8/4 maple left over from a previous project; I cut a groove a little wider than 3/4 inch to accept the stock, and made an adjustable end stop.  With the jig clamped in place to my miter gage, I can set the end stop to 1/16, 1/8, 1/4, or anywhere inbetween, and get the exact same thickness cut every time!  (The pen above was the one I made last weekend; glue is still drying on my blank using the new jig!)

Just wondering if anyone else has seen something like this or has a better idea or suggestion for improvement!
