My first bowls

This was the first bowl I ever turned. My goal was simply to get it round and even, without looking foolish in front of all the others in my class. I like it, though, because the grain (I'm pretty sure the wood is ash) is pretty.
This bowl is poplar, and I was happy with it because I managed to get a rather graceful shape and the walls are pretty thin.
I like this cherry bowl because the wood was green when I turned it and it gave me a lot of problems (cracks, warping, etc.). It's a victory simply because it didn't break! Also, over time it has "evolved" so it is no longer round.

These are the first bowls I ever turned, and I'm posting them here so other novice turners won't be afraid to show their own work!
