Dragon Door

I've built a lot of doors over the years, this one of my favorites which I built about 25 years ago. The door is made from stack laminated solid VG Fir and is about 10' tall. The stiles are ploughed to accept a tennon from the rails and then 4" x 1/2" dowells then the ploughs are filled in where the glass is. The curved part of the jamb is laminated from 1/8" pieces. The contrasting stops holding the glass is from Paduak. The door design is mine own but I cannot take credit for the beautiful stained glass work which was designed and executed by a friend. I've never seen another door quite like this.
