Two blogs focus on design

Many of us find it difficult to design furniture. But if you're like me, you'd much rather strike out on a new path than make reproductions. So I'm sketching away as much as possible, trying to refine my eye, my sense of proportion, and my own aesthetic. That's why I like two blogs I recently came across. I've known Jamon Schlimgen for a while (we met on Twitter). He's a furniture maker in New York state and has set quite a challenge for himself. He's going to post a new design every day for a year. You can see his progress at his blog, The Drawing Boards. If you'd like to post some of your own drawings, try another of his blogs, Furniture Design. It's a community blog in that anyone can post to it. That's a great idea, because one thing that most woodworkers lack is a group of collegues to share ideas with. I've already posted two of my own designs there and gotten some good questions.
