Triangle Gift Box
comments (0) January 19th, 2010 in Reader's Gallery
I made this box for my daughters' tutor. It is maple, beech and walnut for the trim. The accent pieces in the lid are birds eye maple. I missed entering it in the holiday gift contest by 1 day. Oh well. It was still fun to make. It has 3 coats of wipe on water based polyurethane which I rubbed out with 0000 steel woool. A light coat of bees wax furniture polish, buffed out with cheese cloth, gives it a velvet smooth finish. It measure about 10" on each side and is almost an equilateral triangle.
