These are some christmas gifts that I made out of leftovers from other projects. The shotgun shell box is made out of walnut, and holds 27, 12gauge shotgun shells. The small box is a 22 long rifle shell box, made out of walnut, and holds 50 loose shells, and a box of 50 cartridges. The jewelry box is pine, with felt interior, and dividers, with brass hinges. The apple clock, is made with burled walnut, and a 2-3/8 clock inserted in the front. I get some interesting comments on the apple clock, with what looks like a bite out of it. The wife and kids sure enjoyed the gifts, and I had fun making them. The fish trivet is made out of maple and walnut boards glued together and then the holes drilled.

I am not sure anyone uses them for carrying shells to the range. I made them for family mostly, and had thier names engraved on a brass nameplate which I attached with small screws. I made one for one of my freinds, and when he got his, he made the comment, that it was going on his display shelf, and was not going to be used.

The shotgun shell and 22 shell boxes are beautiful, and I've considered making similar. I wonder though, do folks actually use them?
