Top of Music box - Rockwell's "A boy meets his dog" in marquetry.
Box dimensions 10.5'W x 15'L x 5"H in lacquered walnut with magnificent wood grain that wraps around the box. Marquetry top is replica of famous Rockwell scene on maple background. Lock Mitre joints reinforced with rosewood cornering. My grandson's name in marquetry on inside of top (mahogany on maple). Veneers used include mahogany, ebony and holly (dog); dyed pear (red, black & blue), holly, (boy's clothes), also dyed blue oak for dark part of jeans; pear for skin tones. Music movement Swiss & plays "Ode to Joy" - comes on when box lid opens
