Holiday Treasure Chest for Christmas Gift
comments (1) December 17th, 2009 in Reader's Gallery
This is a christmas gift made and donated for the christmas auction that the lions club has to raise money each year. I build a piece or two every year. This is Sapele on the top with tigar maple as all the light wood. Is my own design taken from some great ideas on FWW.It is also lined with cedar and has a sliding maple drawer. THe corners are one piece with inlay sapele at the joints. The sides are all mortis and tenon construction. Was a pleasure to make and did well at the christmas auction and ended up being a Christmas/ birthday present for a good Friend.
Design or Plan used: My own design

The corners ae a nice touch.......
Where did you get the hardware for the lid (the chain & mounts ? I have looked on the internet & can't find them anywhere. I have seen other users that have utilized them before also.
Thanks again.
