Scarf Organizer

I put this up not because I do very good work, but to give others with more able woodworking skills an idea for a very useful gift for their wife, mother, or daughter. Practical scarf organizers are almost non-existent, and it's really wonderful to have storage where you can see all of the scarves at once, and where it's easy to put them away.
This is made with two 24" x 5/8" dowels, mounted in 3.5" square blocks that I cut the tops off of and mounted to a 24" x 3.5" board, which I then screwed on to the closet door (screws not visible once rack is covered with scarves). My favorite part is that it's very smoothly sanded and the corners are all rounded - nothing to snag silk scarves on.

My girfriend just asked me for something like that to hang her ribbons(she does a lot of scrapbooking and sewing). I intend to incorporate-it to a chest I'll make for her. Good Idea
