The Knots forum is moving to a brand new platform.

UPDATE 12/16 6:48 p.m. EST: The new forum is live. http://forums.finewoodworking.com/ I have noticed some server problems. So, if you get an error message, try again later. Our hosting company knows about the issue.

For reference, here are some links to help you navigate the new system:

This means that Knots will GO DARK from morning on until all the data migrates over to the new system--leaving no place for Knotizens to gather in cyberspace.

So, I invite you all to hang out in the blogs… I know it’s not the same, but feel free to post a comment to say hello and touch base with your forum buds.

Want me to start up some woodworking discussion-topics in a blog post? Drop me a line at fw-web AT Taunton.com.

I’ll also be updating this post with status information to try and keep folks in the loop on what’s happening when.

In the meantime, check out some of these ongoing blog discussions:

Are dovetails overrated?
Do you have a dedicated sharpening station?

At least it is quiet.
I got a new 3/4" bi-metal 6-4 (4-6) TPI band that wants to dig into some serious wood. That is where I am off to.

I hope that this is all going to be a worthwhile leap of faith.
I'll have my fingers crossed.

How about a video of the nail biting action? I know it wouldn't be nearly as exciting as watching Gary dimensioning wood or Peter spreading varnish.

Hope all goes well for your team.
