This Advent Table was constructed entierly of 3/4" Walnut. I started w/ a small sketch from my client , who was donating it to our church. From there I made a 1 1/2"= 1'-0" scale model, where I discovered some area that would cause concern during construction. I then made a fullsize mock-up w/ 3/4" plywood. this showed more areas of concern. I hardily suggest this path when doing any large project.

The Table's base is 18" square, top is 22" square, and is 45" tall. The base is finished w/ three coats of Bartley Gel Varnish, and the top is finished w/ six coats  B G V & two coats of Minwax Paste Wax. Total hours 131, not counting sleepless nights trying to figure out the solution to the next problem.
